Dan Aykroyd explains that he has been co-writing the Ghostbusters 3 screenplay with Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky:
“He was talking about the writers from Year One, and I think he was reacting to the box-office success and the general public view of the film, which in my view was a very serviceable comedy, and in the end I think they’ll make their money back,”
“I think he was concerned that the writing on Ghostbusters 3 by these guys would not be up to standard, but I can tell you firsthand, I’m working on the script now and those two—Stupnitsky and Eisenberg, [writer-producers of The Office]—wrote Bill the comic role of a lifetime, and the new Ghostbusters and the old are all well represented in it…we have a strong first draft that Harold [Ramis] and I will take back, and I’m very excited about working on it.”

This news has came as a relief to many Ghostbusters fans as we now have the original man at the helm of those proton packs. Harold Ramis has recently told that nearly all of the original cast are now “on-board”. There are rumours across the net about the script and cast but no one officially tied to any of the past films has leaked or told us anything, there are rumours that there will be a set of New Ghostbusters which has been tied to Seth Rogan and Steve Carell.
Also in the news recetly is, Ghostbusters 3 will be made in 3D! The rumour was apparently leaked from George Lucas’s Industrial Light & Magic who told that Ghostbusters 3 is interested in the third dimension.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Ghostbusters 3 may be directed by none other than Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II director Ivan Reitman. Although Reitman has already stated that he is not attached and had no interest in being the director, but bloody disgusting have stated that he is 100% attached to the movie, although that doesn’t really mean he will be the director, but to be honest it does look that way.
Some other news is that the story of Ghostbusters 3 will start off with the Ghostbusters reopening their service after a few years of it being closed. As we all know all the original cast have are due to appear in the movie and there is plenty of interviews o across the internet for proof.

Harold Ramis has announced that Ghostbusters 3 will be NOT be CGI driven. This has please all Ghostbusters fans around the world as we all know what made the first two movies great, and that was the low-tech gadgets that ‘busters used to “bust” those ghosts.
Ghostbusters 3 is looking promising already as co-writer Ramis has stated that he wants to stay away from the problems associated with the infamous Indiana Jones film from last year… I guess he means there wont be a killer ending.
